Several years ago, a woman was referred to CPNL following the stillbirth of her child. Her experience ultimately became the impetus, force, and inspiration behind this extraordinary work of art. In recounting the events surrounding the loss of her child, she shared that her child had been brought to her in a green bucket. The image and the reality so appalled CPNL's Executive Director, it became evidence of the profound need for ongoing education and intervention. What emerged was the strong commitment of several individuals to ensure that this would never happen again - that there would always be a beautiful blanket with which to wrap every child and the training to make sure it was used. Through the efforts and generosity of the Charitable Quilt Fund of the Arapahoe County Quilters, this commitment gave rise to the Blanket Project and, ultimately, to the design and creation of this quilt.
