Colorado Pregnancy and Newborn Loss Services ("CPNL") is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit state-wide community based program founded in 1994, dedicated to helping those grieving the loss of a child through miscarriage, stillbirth, or early infant death. The loss of a planned and wished-for child can be devastating to parents, siblings, family and friends.

Grieving left unrecognized ("You're young, you can have another") or ignored ("If I don't think about it, I'll feel better") or unmanaged ("I sit alone and cry-no one wants to listen anymore"), can result in upheaval and unresolved grief issues for the family.

Overcoming feelings of isolation...
There are many difficult times after the loss of a baby and most parents find talking and sharing their experiences in a group setting helps break down the isolation that is experienced after the loss.

In this setting, parents are aware their feelings of shock, guilt, depression, and anger, are normal. Working through grief, parents learn to move forward while incorporating this loss into their lives.

Guidance by professionals...
Group members are guided by professional facilitators—trained in group process and grief counseling—who offer grief education and coping strategies. Psychiatric consultation is available to facilitators.

Support for subsequent pregnancies...
This program helps reduce the anxiety and stress couples experience when entering a subsequent pregnancy and provides support after delivery, helping the family integrate both of these life experiences.

Private consultation...
We recognize that groups are not for everyone. Private consultation with a facilitator is available on an arranged basis.

"The Group provided us true support and the reaffirmation that our feelings were real and normal. Talking and opening up quickens the healing process." -Debbie & Kevin Clapp

"We will have a lifetime appreciation for the warmth and professionalism we received following the loss of our son." -Jennifer & James Hulac
